Delphinus
Delphinus Meaning and Origin
Delphinus is a boy’s name of Greek origin, meaning “dolphin.” In Greek mythology, Delphinus represents the dolphin sent by the god Poseidon to find Amphitrite, a sea nymph, and persuade her to marry him. As a reward for its successful mission, Poseidon placed the dolphin among the stars as a constellation. Delphinus is a small constellation located in the northern sky, visible primarily from the Northern Hemisphere. It is situated near the celestial equator, between the larger constellations of Aquila (the Eagle) and Pegasus (the Winged Horse).
