Peninnah Meaning and Origin

A traditional name meaning “coral” in Hebrew. In modern Hebrew, it means pearl. In the bible Peninnah is one of two wives of Elkanah, his other wife is Hannah. Peninnah and Hannah’s situation is somewhat interesting in that Peninnah has children but is unloved, while Hannah is loved but has no children.
